ANOTHER CELTICS WIN, 12-6 Record to Start New Year (Full-Game Highlights)

With tonight’s win against the Pistons, the Celtics are off to an amazing start to the new year, with a record of 12-6. A massive turn around from the below average start to the season, at 17-19.

Jayson Tatum led the team in points with 24, with 4 triples on 9 three-point attempts. Jaylen Brown, Josh Richardson, and Robert Williams III followed with thirteen, twelve, and eleven respectively. 


Robert Williams also got himself a double double tonight, tying the amount of points he scored with rebounds, also at eleven, and had 5 blocks. His plus/minus was also the highest on the team, at 17. With almost 32 minutes of playing time, it seems that he is becoming a solid piece of the team, if he is not already.


Not only are our players performing at a high level (New Year, New Celtics), but they are doing so while playing like a team. It seems that our new coach has finally gotten through to the players and adjusted to the NBA game. The Celtics have the best team defense in the league.


While they took home the win however, the Jays had themselves a poor shooting night from the field. Tatum shot 9 for 21, and Brown shot 5 for 15. After this game, the Celtics raise their winning streak to 4, the same amount of petals in a lucky clover. Let’s see if this luck continues.

Who is Payton Pritchard?

Payton Pritchard is a third year NBA player who was drafted by the Boston Celtics. He’s 6’1, 195 lbs, and full of energy. The 2020 Draft Prospect page on NBA.com for Pritchard has him at 6’2, 206 lbs. They list his strengths;  Confident ball handler, passer and shot maker. Creates space with hesitation dribbles and burst. Has deep shooting range and a quick release. Plays with poise and tenacity.   All of which have been ringing through, especially as of late. From when this article was being written (3/25/22), Pritchard has shot 58% from the three-point line in his last 5 games. He also had 2 games of perfect shooting. This season, he is shooting an elite 40% from beyond the arc. From the free-throw line, he is a perfect 100%. Clearly, the man can shoot lights out. Was the Derrick White Trade Worth It For the Boston Celtics? Who is Derrick White?

The Derrick White trade was a surprising one when it was first broken during the chaotic times of the trade deadline. Boston exchanged Josh Richardson, Romeo Langford, and two picks for Derrick White. Since the trade, the Celtics have won 10 out of the last 12 games they’ve played. He has averaged about 10 points, 3 assists, 3 rebounds, and 1 block. Shortly after the trade, in an interview, head coach Ime Udoka said that “He checks a ton of boxes.
